2026 Canada-Sweden Arctic Ocean Expedition FYB Deployment
On September 6, 2026, the Swedish icebreaker Oden deployed 100 Float Your Boat wooden boats alongside a stationary ice buoy as part of the 2026 Canada-Sweden Arctic Ocean Expedition. The boats had been decorated by students from several U.S. schools (listed below) and by the crew and scientific team aboard the Oden.
Using a helicopter, the boats were transported from the ship to a large ice floe where scientists were taking measurements of ice properties. The boats were arranged into the pattern of a musical G-clef.
