Two boats were found and reported on June 28, 2024 at Farm Munaðarnes, in northwest Iceland by Birgir Guðmundsson. These boats were deployed at the North Pole by Le Commandant Charcot on August 17, 2023.
Birgir Guðmundsson is the uncle of Guðni Hrafn Pétursson Olsen who found and reported many boats a couple years ago from this same place. Read his story here.
Boat 223012 was decorated by a child during a public library program in western Colorado USA in May of 2022. Sarah R Johnson, coordinator of the Float Your Boat program, offered Arctic Science community programs at each of the libraries in the Roaring Fork Valley including the Garfield County Libraries. Included in the program was the opportunity to decorate a small wooden boat for Float Your Boat.
Boat 230437 was decorated by a student at Eckstein Middle School in Seattle, Washington. It was also deployed on August 17, 2023.
